About Maria

Maria Elent is the Founder and Director of Shall We Dance Studio in Toronto (est. 2004). She began her dance journey at age five in Russia/USSR, performed in theatres and galas from an early age, and started teaching at seventeen. She earned a Master’s degree in Arts from St. Petersburg State University and later taught across Russia, Europe, and North America.
Credentials include: Canadian National Ballroom / Professional Smooth Champion, certified adjudicator & choreographer, and membership in the Canadian Dance Teachers Association.
